My Home was born with the idea of practising the composition of different genres I hadn’t tried before, applied to a videogame. So, with that promise, I selected five genres: action/platforms, racing, electronic, terror and purely classical. Each piece has a level. Due to the recent death of my hamster, Eldamar, I decided to dedicate this game in his memory, and with time were born the two extra levels, that with the music in the menus, contain typical orchestral music in honor of my pet.


My Home

A big classical home with inner courtyards and tons of famous paintings from the early times to romanticism (included). Style: classical/baroque/romantic orchestra. Main influence: Spring by Vivaldi.


Terror Mansion

You'll begin in a dark forest near a little building. Following the road you'll reach a terrible mansion. Can you discover the secrets of this house? Style: orchestral. Main influence: Dracula and Poltergeist OSTs.


Futuristic Tower

You'll appear in a kind of airport with cars too and your task is to reach the peak of the tower. Style: cinematic electronic. Main influence: Ratchet & Clank OSTs.


The Platforms

A typical platforms level, you'll appear down and you have to jump over the platforms to reach the high point. I thought in to put invisible walls in the very big platforms because they are made of terrain and you can cheat by jumping in the vertical terrain, but I don't care. That's the only task of the level, if you just cheat it, it doesn't make sense. Style: rock/jazz/instrumental? I don't really know. Main influence: Spyro OST.


Racing Circuit

You'll drive the FegeCar in a circuit, as simple as that! Style: heavy metal/hard rock. Main influence: Dragon Ball Videogames OSTs (mainly Tag Team OST).


The Tale of the Robot


This is a kind of expansion. I wanted to try a 2D game and I did a simple one with Unity, and also had the idea of the RPG Maker MV game later. As it is just one track and follows the line of "experimenting with new genres", I added it to "My Home". The style is electronic/8bits (at least I tried). The influence is again the Ratchet & Clank OSTs, more specifically the track "Shadow of the Robot" from Ratchet & Clank 3, although my track is more simple.


In memory of Eldamar el Hamster

Both the music of the menus and the two extra levels are typical orchestral in my style in memory of Eldamar the Hamster, who died on December 24, 2016. The first three are more cheerful, and when I composed the melody, I thought of when he ran on the bed or just ate inside his home. About the other two, the main melody was composed the day he died, so it is sad. I will miss you. Never forget you.

Spacescapes is one step further in the direction of "Beyond". My intention was to create space ambient tracks only with effects. The music is part of the soundtrack of a videogame created for this, also called Spacescapes, where you can wander around three moons with a planet, different in each map. My intention with this is to create feelings to the player. Joy, vigorousness and sadness.

The history of this is long. I was contacted by a person that asked me the use of a Rammstein track I created for her short-film, and I said her that I can compose original music for it. The short-film was about refugees, more concretely about syrian refugees. In the video you could see a girl in what seemed a college or a school, working, and in a moment she began to see the news and saw all death and the crisis. After that, in the class there was a child, and the girl goes to help him, making us to understand she is going to be a volunteer.

For some reasons I prefer not to say here, the short film was cancelled. But I had the idea to do my own video about this, so I could use the music and contribute talking about this problem.

The Aancë are also known as the Six Shadow Lieutenants. They were Aelmë from Assiriand, that were corrupted by Mínireth, Lord of the Emptiness and creator of Helíriand. The original names of the Lieutenants were forgotten, and they were known by other names. Aancë is the opposite word of Aelmë. Aelmë is a word given to the First Race by the Beings, meaning Children of the Stars. Aancë would mean Children of the No-Stars.

Each Aäncir has a constructed name with a root in Aëlmin. And each one has its own symbol. Each song is named with their symbols.
The titles of the intro and outro are fragments of the Aancë poem.

Now I mention the name of the Lieutenant with its symbol and the translation. The Nameless and Mínireth are not Lieutenants. The Nameless are the criatures from the depths of Unir who corrupted Mínireth, a primordial being, creator of Helíriand.

The Nameless Spiral. The Nameless or Shadows come from the depths of Unir, the universe, and their only purpose is to feed themselves. They will corrupt Mínireth for their unknown evil purposes. What they are and what they want exactly is completely unknown even for the primordial beings.

Morgennmania

The Red Hand. Morgathrond of the Blood Hands is the Lieutenant that was sent to Norgidiand, the Land of Leaves. Morgathrond is the most brutal and bloodthirsty of all the Aancë. He is well known by killing his victims with his own hands. His hands covered in blood were used to paint the symbol with what everyone would know him: the Red Hand. It is said that every symbol in armour and faces is real blood of the many victims of his anger.

The Triangle of Darkness. Sámmanath the Bearer of Darkness is the Lieutenant that was sent to Ciriliand, the Land of Sky. Sámmanath is the most cruel of all the Aancë. His cruelty reaches impressive levels. He is very quiet and patient, prefering to wait years for a siege and conquest in the first try than to do multiple sieges till the final defeat of his enemy. Despite the Caelfim tried to dialogue with him, Sámmanath hasn’t any piety, and will cover the world with darkness. The Nameless will help him much more than to any other Aancë, and that’s one of the reasons that make him so powerful.

Durchennsol

The Impaled Sun. Durcharath the War Minion is the Lieutenant that was sent to Asgariand, the Land of the Sun. Durcharath is known by his stealth skills. In a world where the explorers are very skilled, he is the perfect hunter for them, since he will be who will hunt the explorers. Despite being truly mortal, mostly in enviroments with many elements to hide, he is not well considered by the Nameless, and will have some problems due to this.

Maethennfamial

The Putrid Flame. Maethond the Hunger Caller is the Lieutenant that was sent to Midiand, the Land of Tears. Maethond has the skill to summon putrid storms and diseases that cause famine. His skill is called the Putrefaction. He can make food and water became contaminated. The Misanye will suffer many famines due to this, but not only that, because Maethond can also summon Putrid Rains, that is, contaminated rain that can kill all living beings. The Putrefaction can also travel in the air in some occasions, and along his brutality, all make this Lieutenant one of the most dangerous.

Ninhenncavié

The Pestilent Skull. Nínhirath the Pestilent is the Lieutenant that was sent to Esteliand, the Land of Light. Nínhirath has the skill to summon mortal diseases capable of great global pandemics. The diseases are transmited by the contact with any body fluid, but the most obvious is blood. The main disease is known as the Red Death. This disease will make you vomit blood, among other effects, making you to bleed to death in the best cases, being the putrefaction of internal organs one of the most horrible deaths. Nínhirath is mentally disordered and is very proud. He will ignore the Nameless, and that will cause confrontations between them with time.

The Crossed Heart. Mossirath the Deadly is the Lieutenant that stayed in Assiriand, the Land of Hope. Mossirath is one of the most cruel of all the Aancë. He enjoys the suffering of the victims and he likes to apply very cruel punishments instead of a quick death. He will claim immortality, more than any other Lieutenant, to maximize the fear over his enemies. Some say that in the past before being an Aäncir he had a very painful experience with a forgotten love, making him being this evil in his Aäncir form.

Mingennendo

The Broken Hole. Mínireth, Lord of the Emptiness, is the primordial being who created Helíriand, Land of Energies, and was corrupted by the Nameless. After the Ruin in year 232 of the First Era, it began to be known as Land of Devastation. Mínireth is known by many different names in the worlds but his symbol, the Broken Hole, symbolizes the breaking of the cosmos for the creation of a new age of darkness and death. After the Ruin, Mínireth will rule over his devastated world, while the Aancë are sent to conquer the rest of the worlds. There is nothing the other primordial beings can do to stop him, since the unknown nature of the Nameless is too powerful to be faced.

You dare to disobey your creator?

This soundtrack is the result of a long process. I’ve been for like two years developing the cultures of my book, The Lays of Assiriand, and the last thing I have written are the Appendices of the First Era. The First Era is not written as if it is a normal book, just summaries. I need to work more about that. But the cultures are very developed, that’s why I have been able to do this work. The soundtrack was composed for a videogame about The Lays of Assiriand I have done using RPG Maker XP. I recommend to read not only the post about that videogame in the page of the Legendarium, but also an article about the relation between my cultures and real cultures I posted in my art blog called Land of the Art Researches. I will let links in the end. Now, let’s go to talk about the soundtrack. To make things easier to explain due to the great amount of tracks, first I will talk about the cultures, then about the zones and names of the tracks, and then about the influence and way of composition. Of course, what I am going to explain here about the lore is very short. For more information about this, you should read what I have published in the Legendarium blog, or just play the game and you will learn a lot.



The Cultures

Assiriand
Assiriand is known as Land of Hope, and its creator was Níssiriel Aëlma, Lady of Fecundity. She created the race of the Aelmë, the Children of the Stars, whose language is the Aëlmin. It is a great world full of beauty, with only one season, spring. The climate of the planet would be like oceanic in Earth. The Aelmë are known as the Sensitive Sages, they followed the path of reason but also the path of sensations and feelings. They have a great respect for nature. The symbol in the banners is the Four Pointed Star. The History of Assiriand of the First Era is divided into three periods, stablished by important historic events. Their names are archaic, classic and sensitive period. The Shadow Lieutenant that stayed in this world was Mossirath the Deadly, whose symbol is a heart with a sword, known as the Crossed Heart.



Norgidiand
Norgidiand, or Norgdgiand in Nordmar language, is known as Land of Leaves, and its creator was Anmatar Norgdmar, called Anamath in Aëlmin, the Lord of the Land. He created the race of the Nordmar, the Children of Leaves, whose language is the Nordmar. It is a world with many forests and valleys, and high mountains, with two seasons, autumn and spring. This world has one ring. The climate of the planet would be like oceanic, more similar to the climate in Asturias. The Nordmar are known as the Guardians of Nature, they love nature, they are very brave and protectives but also very serious talking about justice, existing the death penalty for traitors. The symbol in the banners is the Leaf. The History of Norgidiand of the First Era is divided into three periods, stablished by important historic events. Their names are arboreal, heroic and mythic period. The Shadow Lieutenant that stayed in this world was Morgathrond of the Blood Hands, whose symbol is a red hand, known as the Red Hand.


Ciriliand
Ciriliand, or Cil-e-Land in Caelfim language, is known as Land of Sky, and its creator was Eramil Amil, called Eramiel in Aëlmin, the Lady of Fertility. She created the race of the Caelfim, the Children of Sky, whose language is the Caelfim. It is a world with lakes of cristalline waters and forests, that with the snow the landscapes are of true beauty, with two seasons, winter and spring. This world has two rings. The climate of the planet would be like taiga in Earth. The Caelfim are known as the Guardians of the Celestial Beings, they admire the firmament and they spend a lot of time observing and studying it, becoming the first race in to be less affected by the Nameless creatures. The symbol in the banners is the Half Moon. Notice that these planets do not orbit a star, they have a little star orbiting them, so the fact that their symbol is a half moon is because they were able to see other planetary systems with moons. The History of Ciriliand of the First Era is divided into three periods, stablished by important historic events. Their names are archaic, astral and celestial period. The Shadow Lieutenant that stayed in this world was Sámmanath the Bearer of Darkness, whose symbol is a triangle and a circle, known as the Triangle of Darkness.
  


Asgariand
Asgariand, or Asgaralad in Asgran language, is known as Land of Sun, and its creator was Pir’enhad Assam, called Pirenath in Aëlmin, the Lord of Fire. He created the race of the Asgranes, the Children of Sun, whose language is the Asgran. It is a world very arid, and with a great desert, with two seasons, autumn and summer. The climate of the planet would be like arid and desertic in Earth. The Asgranes are known as the Powerful or Dominators of Elements, they want to dominate nature and the elements, and they are great explorers. The symbol in the banners is the Sun. The History of Asgariand of the First Era is divided into three periods, stablished by important historic events. Their names are ancient, middle and new period. The Shadow Lieutenant that stayed in this world was Durcharath the War Minion, whose symbol is a sun crossed by swords or spears, known as the Impaled Sun.


Midiand                                                                                           
Midiand, or Midyanin in Misan language, is known as Land of Tears, and its creator was Aumilwa Yanishana, called Aumial in Aëlmin, the Lady of Water. She created the race of the Misanie, the Children of Water, whose language is the Misan. It is a world with water in abundance, with great lakes and rivers, with three seasons, winter, spring and autumn. The climate of the planet would be like alpine mountain or asiatic in Earth. The Misanie are known as the Spirituals, the Adorators of Natural Energies, they valorate a lot the traditions, they are very interested in fields as medicine and they have a great respect for the elders. The symbol in the banners is the Drop. The History of Midiand of the First Era is divided into three periods, stablished by important historic events. Their names are natural, spiritual and ethereal period. The Shadow Lieutenant that stayed in this world was Maethond the Hunger Caller, whose symbol is seen as a flame with the shape of a drop, known as the Putrid Flame.



Esteliand                                                                                         
Esteliand, or Estel’inam in Estelim language, is known as Land of Light, and its creator was Nialitel Estela, called Niathiel in Aëlmin, the Lady of Wind. She created the race of the Estelima, the Children of Wind, whose language is the Estelim. It is a world that can seem dark, but it has a natural bright, with great mountains and deep valleys, standing out the great Glowing Caverns, with two seasons, winter and autumn. The climate of the planet would be like a mix between taiga and tundra in Earth. The Estelima are known as the Adorators of the Divine and Knowers of the Enlightened Power, for them the light is the source of all, and they studied its propierties. The symbol in the banners is the Eight Pointed Star. The History of Esteliand of the First Era is divided into three periods, stablished by important historic events. Their names are maternal, luminic and mythic period. The Shadow Lieutenant that stayed in this world was Nínhirath the Pestilent, whose symbol is a skull, known as the Pestilent Skull.



Helíriand                                                                                         
Helíriand, or Helrriand in Helimar language, is known as Land of Energies, and its creator was Minhierr Obscer, called Mínireth in Aëlmin, the Lord of the Emptiness. He created the race of the Helimard, the Children of Energies, whose language is the Helimar. After the Ruin, they are known as the Children of the Devastated. It is a dark and rocky world, with many forests and meadows, with one season, autumn. The climate of the planet would be like a mix between patagonia and american canyons, more or less, in Earth. The Helimard are known as the Lieutenants of Energies, but after the Ruin they were known as the Lieutenants of the Devastated, they are very strong and they like to fight, also having a strong justice system with death penalty. The symbol in the banners is the Spiral. The History of Helíriand of the First Era is divided into three periods, stablished by important historic events. Their names are golden, dark and heroic period. It was Mínireth, the creator of the world, who stayed in his devastated world to rule it, and its symbol is hard to describe with words, it is like a broken circumference with a symbol below, and it is known as the Broken Hole.



Ethnic Music - The Inspiration

The music of each culture is inspired in music of real cultures in some way. I already explained the relations in the article I did for Land of the Art Researches due to the release of Nanë e Unnoë Narmethë, so this time I am going to do a summary but adding all the instruments I’ve used in each culture.

Assiriand. Music inspired in greek, roman and western music. I’ve used various guitars, strings, trombone, trumpet, flutes, harp, and various percussion instruments.
Norgidiand. Music inspired in celtic and folkish music. I’ve used guitars, flutes, violin, french horn, strings, trumpet, trombone, and various percussion instruments.
Ciriliand. Music inspired in japanese mixed with western classical and eastern indian music. I’ve used ocarina, indian bansuri flute, koto, different kinds of metallic percussion instruments as vibraphone, violin, strings, oboe, and various percussion instruments, including taiko.
Asgariand. Music inspired in arab and egyptian music. I’ve used arab clarinet, flute ney, qanoon, mijwiz, zourna, and various percussion instruments, including claps.
Midiand. Music inspired in chinese music. I’ve used pipa, shamisen, erhu, dizi, ocarina, gamelan, bells, vibraphone, strings, and various percussion instruments, including taiko and gong.
Esteliand. Music inspired in traditional russian and western music. I’ve used cumbus, accordion, pizzicato strings, french horn, trumpet, trombone, and various percussion instruments, including timpani.
Helíriand. Music inspired in scottish and viking themed music. I’ve used bagpipe, panflute, piccolo, clarinet, french horn, strings, trumpet, trombone, and various percussion instruments, including timpani.

About the titles of the songs

The titles of the tracks are inspired in the zones of the RPG Maker videogame, and these zones are inspired in cultural zones that appear in the lore. To make things easier, I am going to show two clasifications.

Clasification One: Unir, Assiriand, Norgidiand, Ciriliand, Asgariand, Midiand, Esteliand, Helíriand. The section of Unir makes reference to the generic tracks about the concept of the book itself, and they are inspired by the tale of Creation. The others are the name of the worlds and the tracks in these sections belong to the respective worlds.

Clasification Two: Main, House of the Ruler, Cultural Building, Palace of the Heroes, Inn, Fun Building, Store, Temple, Armoury, Barracks, House, Other, Piano. Garden of Remembrance, Battlefield. They have different names depending the world.
Main: it is the main track of the worlds. These were the first tracks I did, and the others are variations.
House of the Ruler: as the name says, the house of the ruler.
Cultural building: a little building in the main town, that is about a cultural aspect of the world.
Palace of the Heroes: place related with the history of the culture with statues and paintings of the heroes.
Inn: as the name says. Little building in the main town.
Fun building: do not confuse with cultural building. The difference is that cultural building is in the main town, and it is a very little building. The fun buildings makes reference to a great building in a zone only for itself.
Store: as the name says. The currency is different for each world, and that is represented in the titles. Little building in the main town.
Temple: place of adoration to the creator being.
Armoury: as the name says. Little building in the main town.
Barracks: place where is the highest rank person in the army.
House: in the game you can buy a house in each world, and this track represent the fact of being in home.
Other: in Asgariand and Esteliand there are two extra tracks. The one of Asgariand is about an underground room with a labyrinth, under the Memphirades, and the one of Esteliand is about the Glowing Caverns.
Piano: the leitmotivs of the worlds played in piano, with a bonus of organ in Esteliand due that in the game I used an organ instead a piano.
Garden of Remembrance: in the game it represents a tipology of the Second Era, based in the Remembrance Period.
Battlefield: in the game it is the combat arena.

Now I am going to put a list depicting the transition between places in the game and titles of tracks. But before that, I am going to divide the tracks/zones into main, primary and secondary, skipping the Introduction.

Main: the Main Town track of each world.
Primary: House of the Ruler, Palace of the Heroes, Fun Building, Temple, Barracks.
Secondary: Cultural Building, Inn, Store, Armoury, House.
Others: the extras of Asgariand and Esteliand and the Pianos.
